For the few people who happen to read this blog in the Portland, OR area (there might be one or two of you), The Northwest Woodworking Studio is having its first Masterworks Show this Thursday, November 1, from 5PM to 8PM. Their announcement is below.

Come join us Thursday, November 1 from 5PM to 8PM, at The Studio for our first Masterworks Show. This is a gathering of work done by graduated Mastery Students. It highlights their work done both in the Mastery Program and after graduation. It is also our first juried show with two student jurors from the program and Roland Johnson, Contributing Editor at Fine Woodworking Magazine as jurors. This will prove to be an outstanding collection of fine furniture from the Mastery Program. Please come by to see the incredible work and our first catalogue of the show and the makers. It will be a great night!

I’ve been to a few similar events at The Studio. They are very casual, as you can just stroll in anytime and take a look at the pieces at your leisure. The craftsman, as well as Gary Rogowski (and in this case Roland Johnson as well) are there and are happy to chat about woodworking or anything else.

Update (11-10-12): A quick recap, along with a few pictures of the show is now up on the Northwest Woodworking Studio’s blog.
